Spanische Weinregion D.O. Montsant
Erst 2001 wurde Montsant eigenständige D.O. (vorher Tarragona-Falset). Obwohl die D.O. nahe am Mittelmeer liegt, wird der Weinbau durch kontinentales Klima mit mediterranen Einfluß geprägt. Montsant wird durch Berge vom Meer abgeschirmt. Kalkhaltiges Kieselgestein, Granitsand und Schiefer sind die drei vorherrschenden Bodentypen.
Die wichtigesten Rebsorten für den Rotwein sind: Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha und Carinena. Für den Weißwein: Chardonnay, Garnacha Blanca und Macabeo.
